When you look at the edit details page there may be a lot of items on there that you don't want users to be bothered with. It is fairly easy to change what shows up on the page by modifying the user profile properties.

For example, if I wanted to remove Distinguished Name from the edit details page (and who doesn't? I mean how many end users need to see that) then I would

1. open up Central Administration
2. and click on Manage Service Applications
3. Click on User Profile Service Application
4. Click on Manage User Properties under the People section
5. Scroll down to Distinguished Name and click on that and choose Edit
6. In the section called Display Settings you will see Show on the Edit Details page as shown below.
   
7. Uncheck the box.
8. The change should be immediate.
